Volume Four:
Production Notes
As we enter the hot and hazy days of summer 2006, Full Tilt Remix returns with its fourth installment, and this issue is packed with hits that are just as hot as the temps outside.  It’s also our biggest issue yet with a whopping seventeen tracks featured!  So crank up the A/C and let’s get started…

01. Cherish – “Do It To It” (74 BPM)
The first release from R&B girl-group Cherish is already charging its way up the charts and is shaping up to be one of the biggest hits of this summer season. Ben delivers the goods on his remix of “Do It To It”, giving us a simple reworking that adds a few filtering effects to the song as well as a much needed intro to the song.
02. Paula DeAnda (feat Baby Bash) – “Doing Too Much” (74 BPM)
Our second track is from yet another newcomer, Paula DeAnda, whose debut single has slowly been building steam in recent months. Ben’s take on “Doing Too Much” is so clean and true to the original that it’s almost hard to imagine the record sounding any other way.
03. Lil Jon – “Snap Yo Fingers” (82 BPM)
The latest from hip-hop’s hottest hype man Lil Jon (“what happened to the Eastside Boyz?” we’re wondering) is well on its way to becoming another in the string of hits he’s generated in recent years. Ben adds some additional percussion and stutter effects to his remix of “Snap Yo Fingers” and delivers a version that’s great for dancefloors and mixshows alike.
04. Kelis (feat Too Short) – “Bossy” (84 BPM)
After a bit of an absence, both Kelis and Bay Area hip-hop legend Too Short return with “Bossy”, a record that the ladies we’ve played it for really seem to love. Marcus drops a fairly simple reworking of the song, adding only a touch of additional percussion and a few subtle echo/delay effects throughout the track (and yet another much-needed intro!).
05. Yung Joc – “It’s Goin’ Down” (Part 1) (84 BPM)
It seems Volume 4 is well represented by first-time releases and newcomers, and Yung Joc’s breakthrough hit no exception – by summer’s end, “It’s Goin’ Down” will likely become one of the biggest multi-format hits of the season. For part one, Ben gives us a nice little interpretation of this track, keeping things simple and true to the original while adding a few bells and whistles to make the remix unique.
06. Bubba Sparxx – “Heat It Up” (96 BPM)
Hot off the heels of “Ms New Booty”, Mister Sparxx returns with another great record – “Heat It Up” has been doing just that for our crowds so far. Ben delivers the prerequisite juice and gives us a remix that makes for a nice addition to your hip-hop sets in the weeks to come.
07. Red Hot Chili Peppers – “Dani California” (96 BPM)
RHCP is just one of those bands that seemingly does no wrong, and after nearly two decades of great music the Peppers return once again with the excellent “Dani California”. Marcus provides us with a great remix that adds some structure and a little extra oomph to the song; the end result is a mixshow and dancefloor-ready rock hit!
08. T.I. – “Why You Wanna” (96 BPM)
The chain of hits from T.I. continues with his latest, “Why You Wanna”. Unlike his remix of T.I.’s monster hit “What You Know”, Marcus leaves the original feel and vibe of “Why You Wanna” largely intact but does hook us up with a completely new backbeat and rhythm on his remix. Catch it a hunch but we have a feeling that this record may well be working wonders in your peak hour sets (if it isn’t already!)
09. Busta Rhymes – “I Love My Chick” (97 BPM)
With an assist from both Kelis and Will.I.Am (of BEP fame), Busta is back in good form with “I Love My Chick”. Marcus drops in a classic hip-hop break (which you’ll surely recognize) behind his remix of the song and delivers a simple but effective piece of production on this great summer record.
10. Beyonce (feat Jay Z) – “Déjà vu” (106 BPM)
We kick up the tempo a few BPM for the tenth track on Volume 4, “Déjà vu”, the latest collaboration between musical power couple Beyonce and Jay Z. With just a touch of additional percussion and a few well-placed filter and delay effects, Ben’s crafted a great remix of what’s sure to become a major multi-format hit for 2006.
11. Gnarls Barkley – “Crazy” (112 BPM)
It’s hard to define and categorize the sound of Gnarls Barkley, but two things are for sure – the groups puts on an excellent live show (as Marcus witnessed earlier this year at the annual Coachella Festival) and “Crazy” is undoubtedly one of the biggest breakout hits so far this year. Marcus delivers a remix loaded with old school elements – stutter and rewind effects placed throughout the track, a classic hip-hop break laid underneath, etc. We could go on, but we’ll leave it at this - we’re pretty confident that you and your crowds are simply going to love what we’ve done with “Crazy”.
12. Yung Joc – “It’s Goin’ Down” (Part Two) (120 BPM)
Our first ever two-parter, Ben delivers the goods times two on “It’s Goin’ Down”. Actually, this remix was the first that Ben completed, and given the chart-power of the song and the excellent work he did on each remix, we decided to include them both for your listening pleasure. Part Two sees Ben kicking the tempo up to 120 BPM and lacing the track up with a great electro/booty styled vibe that’s sure to wow your peak-hour crowds!
13. Christina Aguilera – “Ain’t No Other Man” (128 BPM)
Seems like a number of stars are back on the scene once again with new releases and you can surely count Miss Aguilera among them. “Ain’t No Other Man” is a great up-tempo track, and Ben provides us with a simple extended remix of the song by adding just a few finishing touches along the way. This one’s sure to be burning up the charts as the summer rolls on!
14. ‘Blister In The Brain’ (Break Track) – 100 BPM
A track straight out of the random-idea file, Marcus conjures up a break that might have a few of you scratching your heads at first – rest assured though, you may find yourselves pleasantly surprised with the crowd response you receive on this unusual pairing of elements.
15. ‘Move It To The Soul” (Break Track) – 123 BPM
If “Blister In The Brain” comes off as a bit of head-scratcher, “Move It To The Soul” should be a no-brainer. A simple 808-style kick and snare punctuate the pairing of bits and pieces of two bona-fide club classics. Drop this one and you’re sure to see instant reaction!

It's Goin' Down (Loop Track)
I Love My Chick (Loop Track)
We close out Volume 4 with two loop tracks for your mixing pleasure. Ben gives us a quick bed from his Part One remix of “It’s Goin’ Down” and Marcus hooks us up with some beats from his Busta Rhymes remix.
